Session 4 : Every Building on Earth

The 2011 Thailand floods caused approximately THB 1.43 trillion (USD 46.5 billion) in damages, highlighting the economic risks of concentrated infrastructure. A new Global Exposure Model, encompassing data on around 2.7 billion buildings with updates every two seconds, aims to identify global risk concentrations. This model enhances disaster preparedness and insurance modelling by providing real-time insights into potential vulnerabilities.
