Oasis Updates

Starting in early 2026, we’ll be slowing down our minor release schedule for both the Oasis package and platform. Instead of releasing a new minor version every year, we’ll now do it every two years.

Don’t worry—monthly patch releases will still go out for the current version and the two previous ones. That means you’ll still get access to new features and fixes without having to wait for a full new version.

This change will help us improve overall stability and better match the release timelines of OED and vendor models, which usually have longer cycles.

We’re planning to release version 2.5.0 in January 2026, and then continue with 2.5.x updates through to January 2028, when version 2.6.0 will come out. During this time, we’ll also keep supporting 2.3.x and 2.4.x.

Baloise extended their use of the Oasis Loss Modelling Framework by integrating Impact Forecasting models for key perils like flood, windstorm, severe convective storm and earthquake for multiple countries across Europe.

Peter Michailow, Senior Risk Manager at Baloise stated “We decided to implement Impact Forecasting models into our internal system to enhance our modelling capabilities and provide a more comprehensive assessment of natural catastrophe risks. The open-source nature of the Oasis platform and the open-model approach of Impact Forecasting were key factors in our decision-making process.”

Martin Spacek from Impact Forecasting stated “we’re excited to collaborate with Baloise to help with their cat modelling capabilities and it’s amazing to see more market participants integrating the Oasis LMF into their essential exposure management systems. This trend confirms that the journey we began, as an industry, over a decade ago is paying off."

Peter will speak at Nat Cat Revealed 2025 (10 June, Zurich and 12 June, London) about Baloise’s journey with Oasis and the IF models. For more information and to register click HERE
