Mark is the Senior Director of Analytics at Guidewire Software. His interests are in the application of modern data analysis techniques and frameworks to insurance analytics and the benefits of running these analytics in the cloud. He is also interested in tools and techniques for collaborative software development and managing user communities. He previously worked at Oasis Loss Modelling Framework Ltd as their Chief Technology Officer where he led the development team in London and was responsible for all aspects of technical design and implementation. Prior to Oasis Mark spent ten years at Risk Management Solutions, the leading catastrophe model vendor, where he has worked on a wide spectrum of analytic software projects across direct, treaty and ILS business, and on portfolio management and underwriting applications. Mark holds an MSc in Statistical Science from University College London, where his thesis was on statistical approaches to modelling extreme flood depths in the UK, and an MA in Natural Science (Physics) from the University of Cambridge.
