Kick-off workshops held for: "Oasis Platform for Climate and Catastrophe Risk Assessment - Asia"

Key presentations and reports from the meetings held in the Philippines (August 2018) and Bangladesh (October 2018).

Following the start of the Oasis led new project (see Press Release here) we have held kick-off workshops in the Philippines (8th August 2018) and Bangladesh (1st-4th October 2018).

The project "Oasis Platform for Climate and Catastrophe Risk Assessment - Asia" started in July 2018, funded by the International Climate Initiative (IKI) of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) for an international collaboration to improve climate and catastrophe risk resilience in the Philippines and Bangladesh using the Oasis open-source catastrophe modelling platform.

The project has quickly got off the ground, with the first co-development workshops held in the Philippines at the beginning of August, and Bangladesh in early October. We welcomed over 15 organisations across private and government sectors. A high level of engagement and commitment to sharing data and collaboration was made by all relevant parties, and development work has already started.
